Podcasting Intro

In this introduction to podcasting you will find a complete overview of the podcasting landscape. You will dive into details such as, selecting the right recording equipment and microphones, an introduction to editing software, planning your content, recording and editing your first episode, editing and posting, adding music and sound effects, choosing a podcasing hosting platform, creating podcast artwork and branding, strategies for gaining listeners, prelaunch checklist and launching your podcast to the world. We’ll discover what content is best suited for you and your podcast. You will learn and practice interview skills and so much more. A basic knowledge of computers is necessary. We will give you hands on teaching using the Rodecaster 2 Pro Mixer. Audio editing will be taught with Audacity which is free software that you can put to work on all of your audio projects for years to come.

Audio Recording and Editing with Audacity
with Cliff Casteel, Muskogee Campus
Learn audio editing using Audacity for any form of audio recording such as podcasts, music, audiobooks, voice overs and more.
We’ll teach you proper recording levels and the proper recording of audio files. You’ll learn about microphones and their differences and which one to use. We’ll teach you how to properly edit audio files. You will be hands on with the mixing of audio files as you learn how to add voice over music and sound effects. You will learn how to use audio tools built into Audacity. Compressors, limiters, EQ’s, noise reduction, mastering, it’s all here. Create the content you’ve been dreaming about. We’ll work with you to make it happen! A basic knowledge of computer operation is necessary. It would be best if you had your own laptop to bring to class. Your audio journey starts right here.
Leather Craft
with Greg Taylor, Tahlequah Campus
Stamp, tool, and stitch leather. All skill levels welcome. Additional supply fees may apply, but these will either be discussed during the first class session, or you will be emailed a list. All ICTC campuses will be closed the week of March 13 for Spring Break so this class will not meet that week.
Sell your wares created in or outside of class at the Second Annual ICTC Creative Arts Trade Show, which will be at the Muskogee campus, Saturday, April 22, 9am to 2pm. Ask your instructor about participating in your free class booth.
