Armed Security Guard Phase IV

Prepare for an exciting career in armed security. Phase IV-Armed Security Guard is divided into two separate programs: handgun and shotgun. Each program covers in-depth training. Students will focus on mastering the basics of fingerspelling, numbers, colors, and other necessities to hold a beginning-level conversation. Introductory information about deaf culture will be presented along with deaf humor.

Students will NOT be officially enrolled in class until they appear in person to complete the forms necessary for enrollment.

This course prepares students to provide direct patient care in a long-term care nursing facility. This 80-hour course includes instruction in mental health, social needs, hygiene and safety. Students who complete the course are eligible to take the state CNA certification exam. The cost of the exam is included in the course cost.

Students are required to wear scrubs (any color or print except red) and closed-toe shoes for the clinical portion of this course.

Students who apply for this program must pass a background check, obtain a TB skin test, provide a government-issued photo ID, and social security card. 

Students will NOT be accepted if they have misdemeanor or felony offenses (deferred sentences included) in these areas:

If less than seven (7) years have elapsed since completion of a sentence to a misdemeanor or felony of the following offenses:
