with Dale Morris, Muskogee Campus

$1,620

Online registration unavailable

The main focus of the Advanced Emergency Medical Technician is to provide basic and limited advanced emergency medical care and transportation for those critical and emergent patients who use the emergency medical system.  In this class you will learn how to be part of a comprehensive EMS response team.  You will gain skills in how to perform interventions with the basic and advanced equipment found on an imtermediate care ambulance.  You will learn to perform all procedures an EMT may perform, including advanced patient assessment, advanced airway procedures, how to initiate peripheral intravenous lines and saline or similar locks in unconscious patients.  You will draw peripheral blood specimens, insert an uncuffed pharyngeal airway device and practice many other skills.  The skills gained in this class will provide you the opportunity to take the National Registry's AEMT exam and to make application to Oklahoma's State Department of Health for licensure.
