Advanced CMA: Insulin Admin/Glucose Monitoring

This class consists of class time, laboratory skills, and practical experience. This course requires a state skill and written examination. Students who enroll must have a current CMA license.

Advanced CMA: Nasogastric/Gastrostomy/Respiratory

This course is designed for the CNA who wishes to take the state CMA exam. The course covers body systems, medications, administration and documentation requirements. The student must be proficient in reading, speaking and understanding English; and must provide picture ID and Social Security Card for certification. Background check will be done.

PREREQUISITES: High school diploma or GED; current CNA card with 6 months work experience as a CNA. TB skin test, social security card, and government photo ID required.

This course prepares students to provide direct patient care in a long-term care nursing facility. This 80-hour course includes instruction in mental health, social needs, hygiene and safety. Students who complete the course are eligible to take the state CNA certification exam. The cost of the exam is included in the course cost.

Students are required to wear scrubs (any color or print except red) and closed-toe shoes for the clinical portion of this course.

Students who apply for this program must pass a background check, obtain a TB skin test, provide a government-issued photo ID, and social security card. 

Students will NOT be accepted if they have misdemeanor or felony offenses (deferred sentences included) in these areas:
