It encompasses details on bloodborne pathogens, machine guarding, hazard communication, electrical safety, walking and working surfaces, and additional topics.

Covers administering meds via nasogastric and gastrostomy tubes and oral inhalers/nebulizers. Includes skills lab and practical experience. Prerequisite: Current CMA License.

This Certified Medication Aide class in Oklahoma prepares you to safely administer routine medications under the supervision of a licensed nurse. You’ll learn proper medication handling, documentation, safety procedures, and state regulations. Designed for healthcare professionals, this training helps you build the skills needed to expand your role in long-term care and support quality patient care. This class will also prepare you for your CMA certification exam. Prerequisites: proficient in reading, speaking and understanding English, HS diploma or GED, current CNA card with CNA work experience (6 months at least), proof of TB skin test, social security card, and government photo ID. You must be fully paid or have a signed payment plan agreement on file at least 7 days prior to the class start date. Cost includes the $100 exam fee. A $60 non-refundable fee is required, which includes application processing and a criminal background check. Registration is pending the results of your background check. Covers all the skills a certified Phlebotomy tech needs, including venipuncture, safety and biohazards.

Skill labs include a minimum of 40 live draws. Most will be conducted with volunteers during class. If you currently work at a healthcare facility, you may also complete live draws on the job at your employer's facility.
